'Come up and recuperate, you can relax and rest and get your body functioning again.' This was the gift from one of my besties as I deal with my immediate reality, that and the fact that we can share our favourite Gin, chat, catch-up, sleep, FB, Insta and watch Netflix - however, we'll leave that for another time. So for this particular post, I dedicate this to all my peeps. It's been a great start to the year, GREAT! If you've been up to date with me, you'll know that mindset and a 'keeping it real' approach to life, is what's kept me goin'. That and the amazing, heart-warming support that comes with L.O.V.E. (Even with my resting-bitch-face, I know they think I'm semi-cute!) From the healing quilt, to my Hindu Quartz, the out-of-the-way visits, hospital jump-ins, the array of literature to feed the soul. The many dishes of food, the beautiful fabrics and the hundreds of 'just touching base' texts. I'm very grateful. My everyday also pulled a lot of issues into perspective. Mental note: do not in any circumstance continue to watch your favourite cooking shows, whilst one is recovering from removal of the stomach. Sorry Jamie and Nigella, really, really love your work, but it was excruciatingly painful watching you consume gourmet that is now out of my reach. Anyone out there with high protein vegetarian recipes, please come my way! This week my bestie is housing me, feeding me and making sure I get enough Vitamin D. Our walk this morning cemented another milestone FB memory, while I huffed and puffed up the street, LM was updating the socials and sharing that all is OKAY!The five things I learn't along this path

  1. Pull yourself together, pull yourself together, pull yourself together, then cry a bit and then pull yourself together once more.

  2. Get rid of all the BS in your life, really? Is it worth it?

  3. Plan that holiday, make those promises to yourself, pull your finger out, get on with it. Paint that picture, explore your worth. Then we can I say 'I just did it.'

  4. Go to the David Jones card section (or if you are reading this outside AU, your biggest department store), and search for those funny, sarcastic meme-like cards where the dialogue doesn't fit the pic. I've spent a lot of time and a small fortune on these belly aching examples of wit and humor. For those that know me, I laugh a lot and I laugh VERY loud, much to the dismay of the sales assistant.

  5. Surround yourself with your peeps, they are the ones who will always remind you... yes, will always remind you!
