feetChristmas in our part of the world tends to begin on December 1st. Work is gearing up for Christmas, the shop windows are dressed with baubles and lights, heck I even heard a Christmas Carol whilst tearing down the aisles on December 7. And after all that is the joyous time of Christmas and the family gatherings have ceased, the food coma surpassed and reflections on the past 12 months, December 26 seems to be the only day of rest. For on December 27, the machine starts once again. This morning December 26, 2019 I've allowed myself to simply rest, not feeling one iota that the dishwasher needs unpacking or that anyone in the household wants breakfast, yes, they can get it themselves.Instead, I enjoy the pics from friends travelling on social media, I reconnect with some lovely Xmas texts from the past 48 hours and simply surround myself in some quiet time. The three novels going get a look into, I take a loving look at my small vege patch and as the Australians say, enjoy the Serenity. Although the subconscious keeps whispering, that the shopping centres will be filled with avid bargain hunters, (sorry peeps, but who would want to shop today?) that thought fills me with dread. Why must we be on auto pilot all the time?So I call out to those who listen, to simply relax, especially today, think of how this would be beneficial to your psyche, don't stress, it's bad for your health, if you are leaving the house, drive carefully, if you are heading for a swim, take care. With our present state of bush fire emergency, take a moment to think of all the water we can save around our home. Keep posting those loving family images, consume all remaining left overs, leave the cooking till tomorrow. Because December 26 will come and go in a hurry and then it begins once again.#relax #lifewillstillbehere
